The Western Culture promotes individualism i.e. encouraging people to pursue personal fulfillment and emphasizes individual liberty.
Eastern Cultures promote a more collective sense of self in which people feel more closely tied to their families and social groups, and the divorce rates in such cultures (such as Japan) are much lower than they are in the United States

very interesting ! wouldnt know about Japan but its sort of true for traditional desi cultures (india/pakistan)
